".....the poverty and chaos in which many live cannot be denied. However, I never felt an urge to take photos of the harder aspects of life that are undoubtedly commonplace here. Possibly this was due to not wanting to show such a one-sided or biased view....... Contrary to what the title might suggest, this was not an attempt to catalog all of Dhaka inside and out - that would be a lifetime assignment. 'This is Dhaka' is therefore a photo-record of a three years’ life experience, an attempt to bring to the viewer what can be seen and felt here, void of judgment as much as possible."
